amaranth | Superfood with magnificent properties

The term Superfood refers to those foods with magnificent properties that should be considered essential in any healthy diet.

Amaranth is considered a pseudocereal of ancestral origin. The Inca, Mayan and Aztec cultures used it and today it is acclaimed for its multiple virtues. The FAO (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization) considers it the best food in the world.

It presents higher nutritional qualities than most cereals. It contains proteins rich in essential amino acids, such as lysine, tryptophan and methionine, and according to the UN and the WHO, it is considered a food of amazing protein quality.

In addition to standing out for its high protein content, it provides a high proportion of vitamins, such as: A, B, C, B1, B2, B3, D, E and K; being also a rich source of calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and folic acid.

It is especially indicated for people with great physical and mental exhaustion. It helps to mitigate stress , as it generates tryptophan, which in turn produces serotonin, which helps regulate moods and combat depression.

Due to its great contribution of calcium, it is very beneficial to combat menopause and osteoporosis, as it strengthens the bones. In the same way, its large amount of iron postulates it as an ally during pregnancy and lactation.

Helps prevent diseases such as anemia, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, obesity, gastrointestinal conditions, colon cancer, diverticulosis, growth problems in children, chronic kidney failure problems, liver failure, improves heart health, the circulatory system and regulates cholesterol.

It does not contain gluten , so it is a suitable option for people with celiac disease, and unlike quinoa, it does not contain saponins that give it a bitter taste. It is recommended for fat loss and muscle gain, being an excellent source of energy and satiety.

- As a healthy snack or collations.
- During outdoor or sports activities.

- To add to protein shakes, breakfasts or desserts.
- To add to salads, soups or creams.
- To mix with fruits and other seeds

Modes of consumption: INTEGRAL FLOUR
- For use in masses and/or confectionery: cookies, pancakes, cakes, tortillas, puddings, others. Mix up to 30% of the total mass.
- To add to protein shakes.

Modes of consumption: WHOLE GRAINS
- To cook with legumes, rice, risottos.
